SAM SMITH ANNOUNCED AS NEW WAR CHILD GLOBAL AMBASSADOR

Today is a very exciting day for everyone at War Child. 
We are immensely proud to announce Sam Smith as our new Global Ambassador. 
The Oscar-winning singer will use his global voice and influence to raise awareness of the challenges facing some of the world’s most vulnerable children, from Syrian refugees in Jordan to child soldiers in the Central African Republic.

Sam visited the War Child team in Jordan back in August. It was here that he met Mohammed. 
Sam said: “He’s 14-years-old and the cheekiest, funniest, most charming young man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Over the few days that I spent with him and his family, we bonded over our love of music.  
“He said something that will stay with me forever:
“He said ‘Music is like the ocean. It’s so big and so vast that we will never, truly understand it. It’s so much bigger than us.”’
We’ve released an emotional new video detailing Sam’s time in Jordan.

GIRLFRIEND OF PHILANDO CASTILLE REACHES SETTLEMENT FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS Diamond Reynolds, the girlfriend of Philando Castile (David Joles/Star Tribune via AP) Diamond Reynolds who was in the car and live streamed the fatal shooting by police of her boyfriend, Philando Castile has reached a settlement. Reynolds has settled with two cities for $800,000 Wednesday. Both Reynolds and her 4 year old daughter were in the car and witnessed Castile’s death on July 6th 2016, but we’re not injured. However Reynolds was put in handcuffs after the shooting and was held by the Roseville police alongside her daughter. Roseville police said the treatment of Reynolds and her young daughter was routine procedure.
